Web creators made holiday wishes

Created with sketchtool.

At the centre of Elementor’s recent campaigns are web creators whom the brand idolises and makes feel understood.

We start this newsletter with two recent campaigns by Elementor, a leading website builder for WordPress.

Elementor was founded with the mission of enabling web creators to realise their vast potential by improving every step of the website building process. At the heart of the company’s success is a diverse community in over 150 countries. The first campaign, “We Are The Web Creators”, is an ode to their work.

A 90-second video gives a window into the people who run the web world we all live in, letting us into the secret movement of the web creators, who actually live among us as regular people. Coming from design, development, marketing, or all three they take these skills and add a new layer to them. They are builders who create new web realities every day.

This makes them multi-layered and deepens their skills beyond the traditional professions, creating a new breed of professional—the web creator, powering the digital world, one pixel at a time. Elementor recognises these superheroes that have so far been working behind the scenes, and pays a tribute to this growing workforce hard work.

The video is part of a wider creative campaign that is showing thought leadership to empower and support web creators. Elementor surveyed more than a thousand Web Creators in partnership with getWizer and found a booming workforce of Generation Z and Millenials taking up the role of Web Creator. The company also has recently launched an online academy to support creators in leveling up their skills and growing their businesses.

The second campaign is the ‘You Wish!’ website.

It showcases ‘holiday gifts web creators dream about’. Getting into the holiday spirit, while some people wish for happiness or success, the Elementor team thought about things that can really improve web creators’ lives.

Like every year, the company released cheerful holiday-themed GIFs creative kits. Full of landing pages, sections, popups, stickers & animations the seasonal kits allow their customers to prepare their sites and generate sales before the end of the year.

The ‘You Wish!’ page also features several web creator gadgets that are fictional concepts to illustrate and make fun of workplace annoyances that are common for web creators.

Every item is something creators either wish for or something they never thought they needed, and visitors can vote for their favorites.

Every item is something creators either wish for or something they never thought they needed, and visitors can vote for their favorites.

For example:

  • The ‘Logo Magnifying Ring’—for the times when you work for a client who wants a bigger logo,
  • The ‘Scroller Coaster’—a mouse pad for extreme drag-and-drop adventures,
  • The ‘Airbag Keyboard’—a computer keyboard with sleep mode enabled so that when you dose off at the desk, the airbag pops out and provides a soft landing for your sleepy head.

Why it’s important: Elementor’ strategy exemplifies a consistent focus on its core audience and a good understanding of the unique issues they deal with at work.
